Citlaltépetl, in Náhuatl means Star Mountain, is highest of Mexico's peaks, located about 190 km (120mi) east of Mexico City near the town of Tlachichuca.


One can't get higher than that. The roof of Mexico, beautiful snow-and-ice covered peak in tropical sun is a truly unforgettable experience.



You need to be acclimatized to climb Pico de Orizaba in 2 days, otherwise we strongly recommend 3 days option.

The best time to climb is from October to April.

 

It is possible to climb throughout the rest of the year but conditions may be unfavorable making it substantially difficult or even impossible to reach the top.
