The third highest of Mexico's peaks, located about 70 km (44 mi) southwest of Mexico City near the town of Amecameca.


This beautiful mountain gives a unique opportunity to admire Central Mexican Altiplano and all other four highest peaks of Mexico: Matlalcuéyet, Xinantécatl, Popocatépetl and Citlaltépetl.

 


You need to be acclimatized to climb Iztaccíhuatl in 2 days, otherwise we strongly recommend 3 days option.

The best time to climb is from October to April.

 

It is possible to climb throughout the rest of the year but conditions may be unfavorable making it substantially difficult or even impossible to reach the top.
